1 SAMUEL
1 Samuel 1: 1-3
The Family of Elkanah
1 Now there was a certain
man of Ramathaim Zophim, of the mountains of Ephraim, and his name was
Elkanah the son of Jeroham, the son of Elihu the son of Tohu the son of Zuph,
an Ephraimite. 2 And he had two wives: the name of one was
Hannah, and the name of the other Peninnah. Peninnah had children, but Hannah
had no children. 3 This man went up from his city yearly to
worship and sacrifice to the Lord
of hosts in Shiloh.
A certain man
Certain means to be
convinced, sure, settled, not having any doubt about something
Lord,
deepen my conviction of the divine life that I have received. 2 Tim 1:12.
Grant
me revelation of the FULL GOSPEL.
Help
me see Jesus drink the cup filled with my old man; crucified on the cross; and
help me know that I’m no longer a slave to
sin. Rom 6:6; Exo 1:21; Exo 2:1-2.
The roots of Elkanah
Let my transition from the genealogy of the
Adamic race into the divine race be clear and traceable. Gal 2:20.
Let my relocation from darkness into Christ
(light) be apparent. Col 3:3.
And he had two wives
Lord,
rid me of everything that wants to embrace and settle for a double life of
Christ and mammon.
Uproot
every old nature that seeks to gain the whole world with CHRIST as the icing on
the cake.
Help
me practically step into obedience of forsaking ALL so as to gain CHRIST.
Peninnah had children,
but Hannah had no children
Grant
me grace to de-clutter and completely uproot ALL the seed and children of the
Adamic race in me.
Let
the seed of Christ inside me grow to full maturity.
Went up from his city
yearly to worship and sacrifice
Lord,
deliver me from customs; traditions and religion that frustrate and/or limit
the glory of CHRIST in me.
